ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Mandy Coe's poetry has won a number of awards and has been featured on BBC radio and television. Her poetry for children is anthologised by Bloomsbury, Oxford University Press, Hodder Wayland and Pearson Education.
Mandy delivers consultancy on writing in education projects, drawing on her extensive experience of working with young people in galleries, museums and schools. A member of the Poetry Society's poetryclass team, she delivers INSET sessions for teachers. With literaturetraining she mentors writers who wish to work in schools, and delivers the training module: 'A Writer's Toolkit for the Classroom'. Recent projects include one of the five model residencies for 'Writing Together', and a family learning project for Poetry International at the Royal Festival Hall.
Jean Sprackland's first collection of poems, Tattoos for Mothers Day, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize 1999. Her second, Hard Water, is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation and was shortlisted for both the T S Eliot Prize and the Whitbread Book Awards 2004. Her poetry for children appears in anthologies published by Hodder Wayland, Evans and Bloomsbury.
